Why every hour?
A daily step goal is easy to put off until the evening, and an evening of catching up is easy to skip. Hourlap spreads the goal over the day instead: each hour asks for its share of what’s left, often a few hundred steps, a walk of a few minutes. Hourlap is a habit tool, not a medical device.
Why lock apps?
Reminders are easy to swipe away. A locked app is not, and walking its steps is quicker than arguing with it. So an hour that ends short locks the apps you picked, and walking opens them again. Every day still has ways out, because a lock you can’t live with gets deleted.
