Hourlap is made by A.I. Software (“we”, “us”). By using Hourlap you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), which governs your license to use the app. If these terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA wins.
What Hourlap Does
Hourlap helps you walk a little every hour. It reads your step counts and, using Apple’s Screen Time framework, locks the apps and websites you choose when an hour ends short of its steps, until you walk them.
Not Medical Advice
Hourlap is a habit tool, not a medical device. Its goals and numbers are not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before changing how much you exercise, and stop if walking causes pain or discomfort.
Step Counts and Locks
Hourlap relies on your iPhone, your Apple Watch, Apple Health and Screen Time. Step counts can be late, incomplete or wrong, and iOS decides when Hourlap may run. So apps may lock when you have walked, or stay open when you haven’t. Phone calls and iOS Settings are never locked, and you can always remove every lock by turning off Hourlap’s Screen Time access in iOS Settings. Don’t rely on Hourlap to keep you from an app you need in an emergency, or to make sure one is available.
Hourlap Pro
Hourlap Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple. The price, the billing period and any free trial are shown before you buy. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. Features in Pro may change over time.
Acceptable Use
Don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute Hourlap, except as the law allows.
No Warranty
Hourlap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Hourlap, including locked or unlocked apps and missed messages, calls or events. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Hourlap in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Privacy
The Hourlap Privacy Policy explains what the app reads and keeps.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted at this address with a new date, and continuing to use Hourlap means you accept it.
